who snips is for

in short: 13 and up. we ask your birthday at sign-up and don't let under-13s in.

You must be 13 or olderto use snips. We ask for your birthday when you set up your account; if it shows you're under 13, the account is closed and not opened. snips is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep their data — if you believe a younger child has an account, email hello@snips.soand we'll remove it.

you choose who sees each Snip

in short: private is just you. friends is your small, mutual circle.

Sharing on snips is never automatic. Every Snip has an audience, and you can change it at any time:

• Private — visible only to you.
• Friends — visible only to friends you've both added. Friendships are mutual and capped at a small circle, so your day stays with people you actually know — never a feed of strangers. Remove a friend and you stop seeing each other's days at once.

reporting a Snip

in short: every Snip you can see carries a flag. one tap sends it to us for review.

On any friend's Snip, tap the flag in the corner and choose report this Snip. A report goes straight into a review queue that we monitor, and you can report something even after you've seen it once. You can also email hello@snips.so about anything that troubles you — a real person reads it.

blocking someone

in short: from the same flag, block the person. it's immediate, silent, and stops you seeing each other entirely.

The flag menu also lets you blockthe person behind a Snip. Blocking ends the friendship, hides each of you from the other, and prevents them from adding you again — to a blocked person your handle simply stops working, and they're never told. You can review and undo your blocks from the friends screen whenever you like.

what we do with a report

in short: reports land in a queue a human watches; we act on what breaks the rules and follow up where it matters.

Reported Snips collect in a moderation queue we actively monitor. We review what comes in, remove content that breaks our rules from the places others can see it, and take action on accounts that abuse the space. There is no tolerance for harassment, hateful, sexual, or violent content, or anything that endangers a minor. The fastest way to protect yourself in the moment is to block — it takes effect instantly — while we handle the report.

a few words on sharing

in short: be kind — a Snip you share can still be screenshotted by the friend who sees it.

Share the way you'd want a friend to share with you. Anything you send a friend can be screenshotted or shown to someone else, which is outside our control — so think about who you're sharing with.
