how does snips work?
You capture one moment a day — a Snip: tap the shutter for a photo, or hold it for a short video. At the end of its day a Snip seals: it can't be edited or deleted afterwards. One a day, on purpose — the one that mattered.
i missed a day — can i go back and add one?
No. Days seal at midnight, so you can only capture today's Snip. That's the heart of the idea: each day is its own, and you can't backfill the past. Tomorrow is a fresh frame.
can i delete or replace a Snip i don't like?
A sealed Snip can't be deleted or replaced — but you fully control who sees it. You can make any Snip private at any time, however old. If you want to remove everything, you can delete your whole account (see below), which erases all of your Snips for good.
i captured something but it didn't upload.
If you were offline, your Snip is saved safely on your phone and uploads by itself the moment you're back online — you'll see a quick “back online” confirmation when it does. There's no need to capture it again; the day is already taken. If a Snip seems stuck for a long time, reopen the app while connected, and email us if it persists.
how do friends work?
Claim a username and your invite link becomes snips.so/your-name— share it with people you want to see your days. Adds are mutual: you both add each other before days start sharing, up to a small circle of close friends. You can react to a friend's Snip, leave a note, or nudge someone whose day is still blank. Remove a friend anytime and you stop seeing each other's days.
how do i block or report someone?
On a friend's Snip, tap the flag in the corner to report the Snip or block the person. Blocking ends the friendship, stops you seeing each other's days, and prevents them from adding you again — they're never told. You can manage and undo blocks from the friends screen. Reported content goes to review promptly. To report something on the public globe, use the flag on its card, or email hello@snips.so.
what is the globe?
If you choose to make a Snip public, it can appear on the globe — a map of moments from around the world for that day, with a deliberately blurred location. It's reviewed before going live and disappears when the day ends. Sharing to the globe is always your choice; your default is private unless you change it in settings.
notifications and the daily reminder
You can turn on a gentle daily reminder and pick its time in settings. If reminders aren't arriving, check that notifications are enabled for snips in your phone's system settings — there's a shortcut to them from the app's notification settings.
the home-screen widget
Add the snips widget from your home screen (long-press an empty area on iOS, or add a widget on Android) to keep today's Snip — and your friends' — one glance away. It refreshes on its own through the day.
how do i export my Snips?
From settings, choose export and we'll email you a link to download your Snips as a zip. Your camera roll also keeps each capture unless you've turned that off.
how do i delete my account?
Settings → delete account. This permanently removes your account and every Snip, friendship, and detail tied to it — it can't be undone. If anything goes wrong during deletion, email hello@snips.soand we'll take care of it.
